I have tried many storage containers from baby food jars, empty pill bottles, and brown lunch sacks. None of these worked very well either taking too much space to store them to not being able to easily know what seeds you have and the lunch sacks allowed small seeds to fall out the bottom mixing my seeds up.
If you think keeping them in their original packaging will make it easy, not so fast it is a mess to try to find the seeds you are looking for when you are planting or taking inventory of your seeds.

I have only listed one type of storage container since I have not found any better way to store seeds based on cost, ease of access, and safety.

The seed containers are easy to label for reading without having to open the box, and they can be easily accessed.

How to use this storage container for your seeds
In the picture, you can see several ways to store your seeds.
You can save space by storing several varieties in one box like I have done with a general label of Cucumbers for all my cucumber seeds.
The other way I have labeled them is for each variety to have a separate box like I have done for the tomato seeds.
If you want to separate each large box by types such as flowers, vegetables, or herbs you can easily accomplish this.
Use paper packets such as original packets seeds came in, envelopes, paper lunch sacks, coin, or stamp packets along with the photo storage containers to keep your seeds for easy identification and safe storage at an inexpensive cost to you.

Even though these are a good way to save small seeds they take up a lot of room and they are not easy to the identification of what seeds you have without digging through the jars. The jars do not wick away the moisture like paper does.
Empty pill bottles
These are also an inexpensive way to repurpose the containers but they take up a lot of room and are difficult to identify what seeds you have. The pill bottles do not wick away the moisture like paper does.
Paper lunch bags
These are inexpensive and best for larger seeds since small seeds will fall out the bottom of the bags, you can use these along with the photo storage containers for larger seeds but not smaller seeds. These bags are not good by themselves since they are difficult to identify what you have without digging through all the bags of seeds.
Original seed packets
Again this is great to keep your seeds in but not to store them on their own since it is difficult to identify what seeds you have without digging through them. I do recommend using these along with the photo storage containers.
Paper envelopes
These are great to use along with the photo storage containers since small seeds can be stored easily but they are not good to use on their own since it will be difficult to identify what seeds you have.
